Castings for Process Equipment

To help concrete and cement companies keep up with processing demands, Ferralloy supplies high quality, wear resistant cast products for oversized, complex, and critical process equipment. We select the appropriate alloy, designed to resist impact, abrasion and wear, to maximize the service life of your equipment, whether it is used for crushing material, separating aggregate, mixing, or batch processing – we will select the best alloy for your application.

Components include:

  • Crushing jaw plates
  • Impactor hammers
  • Grate & Clinker Cooler Plates
  • Kiln Inlet Segments & Chain
  • Mixing equipment
  • Chute liners
  • Grinding Mill Liners

Casting is a unique, versatile manufacturing process that can reliably reproduce complex designs at a cost-effective rate. The molds can produce parts with internal cavities without requiring in-depth machining.

Ferralloy offers extensive casting services in a wide range of common and specialty grade alloys, so our customers have exactly the right parts for their process equipment. If you need custom manufactured castings, or spare parts to keep critical equipment operating properly, our engineers and technical sales team will offer the right solution and respond quickly to your inquiry.

Castings can produce complex shapes that otherwise would require fabricated and welded parts. Castings require no welding, which eliminates potential weak points in the metal structure in and around the weld joint, in an area known as the ’heat-affected zone’. Stresses during welding are introduced into the material with the input of high amounts of heat, resulting in grain growth which can reduce material strength in that area. A single-piece casting with no weld joints or stresses, will provide longer service life than a welded fabrication.

Durable Cast Products for Wear Resistance

Aggregate process equipment needs to last through continuous cycles of heavy-duty operations without breaking, wearing, or production interruptions. Ferralloy prioritizes both durability and quality – which is built into every one of our cast components. We follow the best practices established for the foundry industry by the American Casting Institute (ACI) , resulting in castings with high-quality workmanship and precise metallurgical properties.

Ferralloy produces castings designed to handle heavy loads and withstand impact and abrasion, with minimal wear. Our team works with each of our customers to determine the right alloy engineered for strength, thermal stability, corrosion and wear resistance, and durability based on your specific application and operating environment.

Our castings meet the standards established by the American Casting Institute (ACI), ASME, AISI, and other internationally recognized quality systems, including manufacturing compliance with ISO 9001.
