When it comes to castings investment, you need to know what goes into the process and the many benefits behind it. Not only is it quick to produce, but it can be seen across unlimited industries.
The Process
The investment casting process can be broken down into very clear steps. First, a wax pattern is created from a special mold that produces these kinds of patterns. After that, the pattern is placed on a tree and the ceramic pouring cup is added to be used later in the process. The wax tree is repeatedly dipped in a slurry that is important to getting the wax tree free of the ceramic slurry. The wax is melted out, the ceramic slurry is hardened then coated to allow the casting to slide out, and then the molten metal is poured in. After it is solidified, the ceramic mold is removed, and the process is repeated until the order is filled.
