Radiant tubes are used in situations where extreme heat is found. Radiant tubes are commonly found in heating systems. Various sizes and shapes of different heat resistant materials are used for these tubes depending on the specific need, service temperature, and furnace atmosphere. One of the places where you might find radiant tubes is in heating.

Radiant Panels

Wall and ceiling-mounted radiant panels are usually made of aluminum and can be heated with either electricity or with tubing that carries hot water. While they can be expensive to operate, they provide supplemental heating in some rooms. Radiant panels have the quickest response time of any heating technology and can be individually controlled for each room.

Radiant Floor Heat

There are three types of radiant floor heat that fit into two different types of installations. “Wet installations” make use of the large thermal mass of a concrete slab floor or lightweight concrete over a wooden subfloor, while “dry installations” occur when the installer “sandwiches” the radiant floor tubing between two layers of plywood or attaches the tubing under the finished floor. Wet installations are the oldest form of modern radiant flooring systems. Dry installations are becoming more and more popular though due to recent innovations in floor heating technology. These “dry” floors allow the cables or tubing to run in an air space beneath the floor making it less expensive to build.
